About this role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides critical care respiratory support across multiple units including Medical Surgical, NeuroTrauma, and Cardiovascular ICUs at Hamilton General Hospital. The role participates in the Code Blue team, operates the Hyperbaric Unit and RACE team, and delivers patient‑ and family‑centered care throughout the facility. This temporary position runs until June 2028 and includes varied shifts covering days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory care in ICU and specialized units
Operate the Hyperbaric Unit and support the RACE team
Serve as a key member of the Code Blue response team

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory TherapyCurrent General Registration, in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)Successful Completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) examValid BCLS and ACLS certificationsRecent 2 years experience within an adult critical care setting
