About this role

The Safety Engineer monitors, audits, and enforces Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance on construction projects within the UAE. The role involves ensuring contractors adhere to local regulations and international standards while managing high-risk activities across infrastructure developments like tunnels, bridges, and roadworks. Reporting directly to the Resident Engineer, the professional provides independent oversight to maintain a safe system of work and environment.

Responsibilities

Review and approve contractor HSE plans and risk assessments.
Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and monitor high-risk activities.
Investigate incidents and analyze root causes to drive corrective actions.
Verify compliance with UAE Federal Law and Dubai Municipality codes.
Manage traffic control plans and coordinate with public safety authorities.
