About this role

General Proximity is a seed-stage startup developing induced proximity medicines (IPMs) to target previously undruggable disease-causing proteins. The company seeks an experienced mechanistic biologist to join the Discovery Biology Team and drive understanding of novel pharmacological mechanisms for their lead compounds.

Responsibilities

Design and execute mechanistic studies on hit compounds
Dissect signaling pathways to map compound mechanism of action
Interrogate protein-protein interactions using specialized assays
Prepare and analyze NGS libraries for novel pharmacology insights
Develop and deploy functional cell-based assays to characterize drug targets

Skills

Qualifications

BS, MS or PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related fieldExperience with NGS library prep and analysisExperience in hit validation and SAR studiesProficiency in stable cell line generation using lentiviral and CRISPR-based systemsExperience with protein-protein interaction techniques such as BRET or AlphaScreen
