About African Wildlife Foundation

awf.org

African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is an Africa-focused conservation organization working to ensure wildlife and wild lands thrive alongside healthy, resilient human communities. AWF uses a multi‑faceted approach — leadership development and policy advocacy, ecosystem and community resilience building, and on‑the‑ground wildlife protection (including anti‑trafficking and strengthened wildlife management) — to align conservation with local development. It emphasizes empowering African conservation leaders, influencing decision‑making, and amplifying African conservation voices to secure good governance and sustainable livelihoods. AWF partners with governments, communities, and donors to implement scalable, locally led solutions across the continent.
