California Trout (CalTrout) is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring California’s cold‑water fisheries and watersheds to ensure healthy, clean water for people and wildlife. Using science‑based habitat restoration, fish passage and flow‑restoration projects, and targeted policy advocacy, they work to recover trout, salmon, and other native fish species. CalTrout operates statewide through regional programs and partnerships with communities, tribes, water managers, and policymakers to advance sustainable water management and climate resilience.
