This contract role serves as the scientific lead for the New World Screwworm Biobanking Program, establishing a secure genetic baseline and overseeing fitness validation across multiple phases. The position involves designing standardized experimental protocols, leading field collection efforts in Central America and Mexico, and managing live-colony rearing in compliance with strict biosafety standards. The scientist will analyze fitness data, coordinate with federal partners, and provide technical guidance to support gene drive deployment and colony restoration.
