About this role

As a Senior Harnessing Engineer at Inversion, you will own the end-to-end design, routing, and physical integration of electrical wire harnesses for hypersonic reentry vehicles. This role bridges electrical schematics with physical vehicle structures, solving complex packaging and electromagnetic interference challenges while adhering to extreme aerospace standards. You will work with high autonomy to establish manufacturing standards, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate directly with integration technicians to build flight-ready hardware.

Responsibilities

Own 3D harness routing and mechanical packaging for the entire vehicle system
Generate 2D manufacturing drawings, schematics, and bill of materials
Select wire types and materials to survive extreme aerospace environments
Conduct trade studies on shielding, grounding, and wire sizing for EMI compliance
Mentor junior engineers on aerospace-grade wire-crimping and soldering techniques
