Senior Optical Engineer

The Senior Optical Engineer at Red 6 is responsible for designing, prototyping, and characterizing optical subsystems for advanced near-eye augmented reality systems used in synthetic air combat training. This role involves overseeing the complete optical design process, including illumination, image relay, and integration into helmet-mounted displays, as well as applying holographic and diffractive optics. The engineer will also design test setups for characterization, collaborate with manufacturing and opto-mechanical teams, and produce detailed documentation throughout the development lifecycle. Strong proficiency in optical design tools, programming for automation, and experience in 3D display technologies are essential for success in this position.
