About this role

A Senior Pathologist Assistant Part-Time/Contingent serves as an extender for the Pathology department, performing gross dissection of surgical specimens, autopsy evisceration, and frozen section preparation. The role involves maintaining the gross room, managing supplies, and assisting with special studies under the supervision of a Pathologist or Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and gross dissect surgical specimens at all complexity levels
Perform evisceration and prosection of autopsy cases
Prepare and stain frozen section tissues for diagnosis
Maintain gross room instruments, supplies, and cleanliness
Dictate preliminary autopsy findings and compile diagnoses

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Biology or PathologyHT (ASCP) CertificationBachelor's Degree in Biology or ZoologyPathology Assistant ExperienceKnowledge of Windows and Lab Information Systems
