About this role

Roche seeks a Senior Research Engineer to advance next-generation DNA sequencing workflows within the Systems Technology Group. The role involves hands-on prototyping, microfabrication, and developing complex fluidic systems integrated with optical and pneumatic subsystems. Engineers will also tackle hardware troubleshooting, protocol development, and collaboration with scientists to enhance diagnostic solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and fabricate custom lab devices using CNC machining and 3D printing
Develop microfabrication processes including photolithography and dry etching
Troubleshoot complex fluidic and optical subsystems integrated with hardware
Build and optimize workflow protocols for nucleic acid extraction and purification
Generate comprehensive technical reports documenting experimental protocols and findings
