Shift Fitter (Nights)-2

The Shift Fitter (Nights)-2 role involves efficiently carrying out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to established standards and procedures while actively contributing to product quality improvements. The position requires interfacing with IT software, identifying and rectifying health and safety risks, and assisting team leaders with their duties to ensure operational efficiency. The role also includes maintaining a clean work area, recording material usage accurately, and raising near misses as needed. The Shift Fitter (Nights)-2 is responsible for operating rail vehicles within depot limits, adhering to safety and quality procedures, and attending various briefings to address raised items. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, understanding mechanical and electrical engineering principles, and applying health, safety, and environmental standards. The Shift Fitter (Nights)-2 must demonstrate problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently to meet project delivery dates. The role requires a NVQ Level 3 certificate in Engineering - Rail Traction & Rolling Stock, or equivalent qualifications, along with previous experience in rail vehicle maintenance.
