Redwood Materials
The Software Engineer – Site Controller will design and implement the core software architecture that orchestrates grid‑scale battery energy storage sites. Working at the system coordination layer, the engineer will build a scalable, resilient platform that integrates distributed microcontrollers, manages fault handling, and enables high‑availability firmware updates. This role bridges hardware integration, industrial networking, and cloud services to make Redwood's Pack Manager technology operational.
Redwood Materials is building a domestic stockpile of critical battery materials and deploying large-scale energy storage systems to power data centers and the nation’s grid. The company recovers and refines end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scrap into battery‑grade materials, helping close the loop on the battery supply chain. By scaling recycling, materials production, and grid-scale storage, Redwood aims to secure resilient U.S. supply chains for electrification while reducing the environmental impact of battery production.
