About this role

Thinking Machines is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and operate a sandboxing platform that enables AI models to safely execute code and tools at scale. This foundational infrastructure role focuses on creating isolated execution environments, managing resource scheduling, and ensuring the reliability and security of the system. The engineer will collaborate with researchers and product teams to expose sandboxing primitives that are simple to use and hard to misuse.

Responsibilities

Design and build sandboxed execution environments for running untrusted code
Improve isolation boundaries using containers, microVMs, or gVisor-style kernels
Build scheduling and resource management systems for efficient sandbox lifecycle

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or similar
