Solid Waste & Recycling

This position involves performing a variety of operations at the City of Abilene Environmental Recycling Center, including operating front loader collection vehicles, horizontal grinders, wheeled loaders, and commercial roll-off trucks. The role requires providing technical supervision and training new solid waste employees on the safe operation of collection routes. Essential duties also include performing preventive maintenance on equipment, assisting with tree limb grinding and mulch loading, and maintaining building grounds.
