The Specimen Processor provides technical and operational support across multiple laboratory sections by receiving, registering, and managing patient specimens. This role involves coordinating with providers to prioritize urgent cases, handling sub-optimal samples, and distributing test results using pneumatic tube systems and laboratory information software. As a key liaison, the worker maintains compliance with safety protocols while facilitating communication between the laboratory, hospital departments, and external partners.

Responsibilities

Receive and process patient specimens from various sources
Register patient demographics and test orders into lab systems
Prioritize urgent cases including trauma and STAT requests
Trace and retrieve test results from pathology departments
Scan surgical pathology results and assist with data retrieval
