About this role

As a member of the Integrated System Modelling team at Blue Origin's TeraWave office, you will develop and maintain analytical models for space safety, debris mitigation, and collision avoidance. This hands-on role involves building validated tools in MATLAB and Python to inform architecture decisions and regulatory filings for a revolutionary satellite communications network. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate space safety analysis into broader system-level models and design requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain MMOD environment and impact risk models for the TeraWave constellation
Build validated analytical tools in MATLAB and Python for engineering analysis
Perform collision probability models and conjunction assessment analysis
Integrate space safety models within the broader Integrated System Model
Conduct trade studies quantifying space safety implications of constellation design choices

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, astrodynamics, physics, or mechanical engineering5+ years of experience in orbital debris analysis or spacecraft survivabilityProficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for scientific computingWorking knowledge of MMOD environment and debris population modelsFamiliarity with re-entry demise analysis methodology and tools
