About this role

As a Staff Engineer at Caribou, you will help build and evolve the foundational infrastructure powering autonomous, voice-enabled, and multi-step agentic workflows across the company's product suite. You will work directly with the Head of Engineering to leverage in-house multi-agent systems, expand AI voice capabilities, and establish durable patterns for handling complex home care operational workflows. This role involves setting the engineering bar through architecture decisions, mentoring team members, and translating messy real-world care processes into robust automated systems.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve foundational infrastructure for autonomous agentic workflows
Establish architecture patterns and lead technical decision-making across the stack
Mentor engineers and foster psychological safety within the team
Translate operational home care workflows into robust automated systems
Design stateful multi-step AI workflows with deep monitoring and failure handling

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experienceDegree in Computer Science or equivalent
