The Lead Sterile Processing Technician organizes, directs, and performs activities related to cleaning, sterilizing, storing, maintenance, and distribution of surgical equipment and instruments within the Sterile Processing Department. This role involves managing daily SPD operations, testing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various hospital departments to ensure sterile supplies are available for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Direct and organize daily activities within the Sterile Processing Department
Test equipment and document adherence to sterility assurance guidelines
Process and package instruments for surgical procedures
Operate and monitor all SPD equipment efficiently and safely
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with department machinery

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GEDCRCST CertificationCSPDT CertificationCertified Surgical Tech (or expectation to obtain within 12 months)3 Years Experience in Sterile Processing or Instrumentation
