About this role

The Student Nurse Tech (SNT) in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a part-time, non-benefited UMMC employee position for nursing students actively enrolled in an accredited RN program. Working under the direct supervision of an RN, SNTs float to designated clinical areas to provide direct and indirect patient care consistent with their training and completed competencies. The three-level program supports development of clinical practice, critical thinking, and time-management while preparing students for transition to registered nurse roles.
