Houston Independent School District (HISD) is the largest public school district in Texas, serving the city of Houston and surrounding communities with K–12 education across hundreds of campuses. The district oversees academic programs, magnet and specialty schools, career and technical education, special education, and student support services while managing district planning, budgets, and leadership. HISD emphasizes improving student outcomes through strategic planning, community and family engagement, and comprehensive resources for parents, students, and staff. It also provides centralized services such as enrollment, calendars, and school choice information to support instruction and operations across a diverse student population.
