A Substance Use Counselor works within residential, school, workplace, and community settings to support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. The role focuses on strength-based interventions to promote recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achieving the highest level of community functioning. As a Qualified Professional, the candidate develops Person Centered Plans, facilitates family and community relationships, and performs case management functions.
