The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) is a trade association representing banks, asset managers, issuers and other financial institutions active in the international capital markets. It sets market standards and best practice, publishes widely used documentation (for example the GMRA) and hosts the Secretariat for market frameworks such as the Green, Social and Sustainability‑Linked Bond Principles. ICMA also provides training, research and conferences, and advocates with regulators and policymakers to promote liquid, well‑functioning and sustainable cross‑border capital markets through its global membership and regional activity.
