The Surgical Technologist supports surgical teams by preparing patients, instruments, equipment, and the operating room to facilitate invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The role works under the general direction of a nurse or physician and applies knowledge of anatomy, sterile/aseptic technique, and surgical procedures to help ensure patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes.
