Switchman

The Switchman position is a cross-functional role responsible for overseeing train, freight, and crew operations while operating track switches and coupling or uncoupling railcars. This role involves performing inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on locomotive mechanical, air, and electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient railroad operations. The position also requires installing and repairing railroad track, operating specialized equipment, and adhering to all Federal Railroad Association rules and company safety standards.
