Escuela Popular
The Teacher creates and maintains an engaging, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment that supports student achievement and prepares learners for future academic, career, and life success. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing standards-based instruction while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include curriculum development, classroom management, student assessment, and collaboration with colleagues, families, and school staff to support student success.
Escuela Popular (EP) is a community-based, bilingual family learning center in East San Jose, providing educational services since 1986. It operates four interdependent academies: a Childcare/Pre-K Academy (Waldorf-inspired), a K–8 Dual Language Academy, a 9–12 High School Academy (under 19), and a Center for Training and Careers serving adult students 19 and over seeking a high school diploma. EP's mission is to develop bilingual, bicultural students through a teaching philosophy rooted in love, empowering learners from early childhood through adulthood to pursue higher education and careers in a global society.
