ACDS is a nonprofit organization based in Plainview, New York, that provides comprehensive education, therapeutic, residential, and recreational services to children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other rare genetic conditions. Founded more than half a century ago, ACDS serves over 1,500 individuals with a lifecycle approach aimed at helping each person develop to their fullest potential. The organization operates programs across Long Island and Westchester, including early childhood education, day habilitation, respite and recreation, and self-direction services.
