Educators for Quality Alternatives (EQA) is a New Orleans–based nonprofit that operates alternative education programs and community services for youth and adults. EQA runs multiple sites and initiatives — including The NET (Central City, Gentilly, East, and Virtual), The Bridge Middle School, The NEST, HiSET preparation at YEP, the New Orleans East Opportunity Center, a community resource pantry, and a Violence Interruption Program — focused on credit recovery, high-school equivalency, and wraparound supports. The organization emphasizes individualized instruction, social-emotional supports, and community partnerships to help students graduate, earn credentials, and transition to work or postsecondary opportunities. EQA is governed by a board of directors and coordinates with local partners through programs, outreach, and competitive procurement processes.
