About this role

The Parenting Partner/Mentor provides active, hands-on peer support to parent or caregiver caseloads in Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto counties. This role delivers evidence-based guidance and coaching in various settings to help families navigate interactions with DCF, child welfare systems, and courts. The position focuses on empowering parents through shared lived expertise while working collaboratively to support systems change and reduce bias.

Responsibilities

Provide peer support and hands-on mentoring to parent/caregiver caseloads
Empower parents to navigate DCF and child welfare systems collaboratively
Facilitate workshops and trainings on trauma-informed parenting curricula
Assist families in developing practical organizational and problem-solving skills
Coordinate with community stakeholders to advocate for family-centered care
