About this role

This role supports the Risk Informed Safety Analysis team by performing nuclear safety analysis for X-energy technology, with a focus on thermo-hydraulic analysis for licensing and design. The position contributes to safety evaluations, including system and component transient and accident analysis, safety function identification, and deterministic safety assessments. The engineer applies NRC regulatory guidance, collaborates with engineering disciplines, and supports verification and validation activities to ensure analysis codes are qualified for safety applications.

Responsibilities

Perform thermo-hydraulic safety analysis for reactor systems and accident scenarios
Conduct transient and accident analysis to evaluate core heat removal and safety margins
Support regulatory submittals and maintain safety classifications for structures and components
