About this role

The Thermoplastics Lead Engineer is responsible for designing and validating thermoplastic tooling, operating and troubleshooting extruders and injection molders, and driving process improvements. This role involves technical leadership, coaching direct and indirect reports, and bridging engineering teams with department leaders to ensure seamless technical integration. The position also supports new product development, customer meetings, and capital project management.

Responsibilities

Design and prove out thermoplastic tooling for extrusion and injection molding
Operate and troubleshoot single/twin screw extruders and injection molders
Perform lab-scale and pilot-level compounding of new polymer and filler systems

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering
