The Training Officer is a Fire & Emergency Services position with the Town of Whitby focused on supporting the organization’s training priorities and promoting a safe, professional culture. Reporting to the Chief Training Officer and guided by the Deputy Fire Chief(s), the role supports training strategy, program maintenance, and professional development for firefighting staff. The position contributes to community safety and organizational readiness through education and training oversight.

Qualifications
- NFPA 1021 Fire Officer 1
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor 1
- NFPA 1021 Fire Officer 2 (within 24 months)
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor 2 (within 24 months)
- 1521 Incident Safety Officer Certification (within 24 months)
- NFPA 1006 Surface Water Rescue – Technician level OR NFPA 1006 CPVR – Technician level OR NFPA 1006 Hazmat Mission Specific – Technical Rescuer (one required at application)
- Class G Ontario Driver's Licence
- Class D Ontario Driver's Licence with Z Air Brake endorsement (to obtain)
