About this role
University Police Officer I is an entry-level sworn position with the University of Maryland Police Department serving the campus community. The role requires completion of extensive pre-employment screening and eligibility to attend the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission Police Academy (expected start late spring 2026). This is a regular non-exempt position with full benefits including tuition remission and participation in the Law Enforcement Officers of the State of Maryland Pension System (LEOPS). Starting salary is $62,359.73.
