About this role
Appointments are being sought to the Midwifery Council, a statutory responsible authority under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act, to contribute to governance that protects public safety and ensures midwives are fit and competent to practise. Members are appointed by the Minister of Health for typically three-year terms and may be reappointed for up to nine consecutive years. Both registered midwives (health practitioner members) and lay members are invited to apply to provide professional and community perspectives.
