About this role

VEG’s Veterinary Technician Student Externship is an immersive, hands-on program that places current veterinary technology or nursing students in 24/7 emergency hospitals to experience emergency medicine and clinical operations. Participants receive real-time mentorship from credentialed emergency veterinary technicians, choose the externship length and hospital location based on program needs, and gain exposure to triage, diagnostics, anesthesia, and inpatient care. This is an unpaid externship intended to fulfill school externship requirements and help students explore careers in emergency veterinary medicine.
