Blessings in a Backpack is a U.S. nonprofit that prevents weekend hunger by making sure children facing food insecurity leave school on Fridays with backpacks full of nutritious, kid-friendly, shelf-stable meals. The organization partners with schools, local volunteers, and donors to run school-based programs—primarily serving elementary students—so kids have enough to eat when school meals aren’t available. Local chapters organize packing and distribution each week, funded by community donations and corporate support. Donors and volunteers choose Blessings in a Backpack for its simple, scalable delivery model and measurable impact on weekend food access.
