The Vice President of Commercial Credit Risk serves as a critical second line of defense for a FDIC-regulated community bank, providing independent oversight across diverse commercial lending portfolios including CRE, Construction, and Healthcare. This role involves challenging underwriting assumptions, validating risk rating methodologies, monitoring portfolio credit quality, and ensuring strict regulatory compliance while supporting the bank's strategic growth in traditional and fintech-enabled programs.

Responsibilities

Perform independent second line review of commercial credit originations
Challenge first-line underwriting assumptions and document risk opinions
Support design and enhancement of internal credit risk rating scorecards
Oversee annual review process and validate impairment analyses for credits
Monitor portfolio-level credit quality indicators and concentration levels
