The Web Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, technical maintenance, and ongoing improvement of ACLED's main website and associated web properties. This hands-on technical role involves troubleshooting issues, implementing improvements, and ensuring the site is reliable, performant, and well-organized. The position also includes setting SEO strategy, managing web analytics, and directly supervising one team member.
ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) is an independent, impartial conflict-monitoring organization that collects real-time data on political violence and protests across all countries and territories. It compiles and publishes event-level datasets, maps, dashboards, and APIs covering armed clashes, demonstrations, and related incidents, alongside analytical products like the Conflict Index and regional watchlists. Researchers, policymakers, humanitarian actors, and media use ACLED’s data and analysis for crisis monitoring, forecasting, and evidence-based response. The project maintains a global research team and local networks to ensure comprehensive, up-to-date coverage.
