PANHANDLE PUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT
The Wellness & Prevention Specialist supports public health and prevention initiatives throughout the Panhandle by collaborating with community partners and implementing evidence-based practices. The role focuses on improving health, safety, and quality of life through health education, suicide prevention, mental health promotion, and various community outreach activities. This position contributes to the Panhandle Public Health District's strategic plan and PHAB accreditation standards.
Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD) is a public health agency serving the Nebraska Panhandle region across 12 counties. PPHD provides a wide range of community health services including immunizations, infectious disease surveillance, environmental health, dental programs, emergency preparedness, and chronic disease prevention. The district is nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and quality of life for all who live, learn, work, and play in the Panhandle.
