California FAIR Plan
The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department by reviewing purchase orders, verifying invoice amounts, and responding to vendor inquiries. This role is responsible for processing invoices accurately, reconciling financial accounts, and assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The position also involves maintaining vendor documentation, handling audit requests, and liaising with banks and other parties as needed.
The California FAIR Plan is the state’s insurer of last resort that provides basic fire and property insurance to California homeowners and businesses who cannot obtain coverage in the private market. Created to ensure access to essential fire protection—especially for properties in high wildfire‑risk areas—it issues standardized, limited‑peril policies to maintain market stability. The FAIR Plan places business through licensed agents and brokers and coordinates consumer resources, loss prevention guidance, and claims support. It functions as a shared mechanism among California insurers to guarantee availability of core property coverage when the voluntary market is unavailable.
