About this role

A certified Anaesthesia Assistant supports the surgical team by assisting during induction and recovery, managing airways, administering medications, and monitoring patient physiological status under the direction of a registered Anaesthetist. The role involves preparing for and assisting with surgical procedures, conducting diagnostic imaging, maintaining anesthesia equipment, and mentoring student staff within an accredited hospital environment.

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed anaesthetic agents under anaesthetist supervision
Perform airway management including intubation and mask ventilation
Monitor patient physiological status during general and conscious sedation
Maintain and troubleshoot anaesthetic gas machines and supplies
Assist with patient orientation and mentorship in simulation labs
