Assistant Payroll Manager

The Assistant Payroll Manager serves as a technical payroll expert supporting seven separate entities across The Claremont Colleges, handling complex areas like multi-state taxation, compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting. This hybrid role involves serving as the primary backup to the Payroll Manager, strengthening processes and controls, and partnering with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to improve payroll operations. The position requires strong payroll tax knowledge, experience leading or supporting a payroll team, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
