Certified Peer Specialist

The Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support services to clients with serious mental illnesses in the community, functioning as a role model and consumer advocate. Under the supervision of the Clinical and Program Directors, the specialist supports clients in outpatient and inpatient settings by helping them articulate personal recovery goals and develop wellness plans. The role involves facilitating one-to-one and group sessions to teach coping skills, problem-solving techniques, and self-advocacy strategies. Additionally, the specialist assists clients in building social skills, securing housing, and connecting with community resources to enhance their daily living and recovery process.
