Certified Peer Support Specialist

A Peer Support Counselor at SBHG utilizes lived experience in mental health or social service systems to provide outreach, engagement, advocacy, and direct services to clients in a 16-bed crisis residential treatment facility. The role involves supporting adults with mental health challenges in moving toward recovery and learning basic living skills within a homelike, 24/7 program setting. Counselors serve as role models and companions to help clients create meaningful roles in their lives separate from their illness.
