About this role

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, perform complex technical procedures, and ensure the acceptability of specimens for testing. This role involves preparing and evaluating new reagents, maintaining quality control procedures, and reporting accurate test results to support quality patient care in a high-volume laboratory environment. Candidates must be eligible for a NY State Medical Technologist license and have experience with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Perform routine and complex technical procedures per standard operating procedures
Prepare test and evaluate new laboratory reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
