About this role

The Director, Data Engineering leads the design and delivery of robust data infrastructure and pipelines within Pfizer's AI Acceleration function to support commercial operations. This role oversees cloud-based data platforms, enforces data governance compliant with FDA and privacy regulations, and partners with AI/ML teams to enable production-grade analytics. As a leader, the position involves managing engineering resources, mentoring data specialists, and bridging technical execution with business stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

Architect and own end-to-end data pipelines on cloud lakehouse platforms
Drive adoption of modern engineering patterns and orchestration platforms
Establish and enforce data product governance frameworks for FDA compliance
Manage and mentor a team of data specialists
Partner with AI/ML engineers to define purpose-built data products
