YSS
The Director of Workforce & Economic Mobility provides strategic leadership for YSS’s workforce development, career readiness, and economic mobility initiatives. This role creates pathways that connect youth, young adults, and families to education, training, employment, and financial stability. The position involves building partnerships with employers and community organizations, developing innovative programs to address employment barriers, and overseeing organizational collaboration and program evaluation.
YSS is one of Iowa's oldest and largest nonprofits, empowering youth and families for over 50 years through shelter, counseling, mental health services, and life skills programs. The organization operates initiatives including homeless youth services, residential addiction treatment (Ember Recovery), foster care advocacy, and opioid prevention education. YSS serves tens of thousands of youth and families each year across Iowa with a mission of putting kids first.
