Dispatcher

Under the direction of the Dispatch Supervisor, a Dispatcher is responsible for the deployment, tracking, and movement of units throughout the day according to the local System Status Management Plan. The role involves broadcasting orders to crews regarding runs, emergencies, and general information while operating radio, telephone, or computer equipment. Dispatchers also take caller information, determine the nature of the run request, and dispatch runs in an appropriate and timely manner under Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols.
