About this role

A Wells Engineer at ExxonMobil is responsible for designing, planning, and executing wellwork operations in compliance with internal and external standards, including drilling, completions, and well management activities.

Responsibilities

Develop operational programs for drilling, completions, and/or workover activities ensuring focus on operations integrity and regulatory compliance
Develop and optimize wellwork (drilling/ completions/ workover) designs for multi-well programs; competent with casing and/or tubing design, and able to effectively work with contractors to develop well path plans, fluids and cementing programs
Provides advanced technical support for drilling, completion, well intervention, and/or well abandonment strategies to improve well designs, operational plans, and support issue resolution
Performs comprehensive risk management strategies, including but not limited to areas of SSH&E (Safety, Security, Health & Environmental) impacts, emergency preparedness, well control procedures and contingency planning
Provides mentoring and coaching to less experienced Wells Engineers

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering disciplinePrior Wells Engineering experience, preferably 5 - 15 yearsHigh level of personal and professional integrityStrong verbal and written communication skillsWilling and able to travel to the well site to support global operations
