About this role

The Roger Baldwin Foundation of the ACLU Inc. (the ACLU of Illinois) is seeking rising third-year law students and recent law graduates for a one- to two-year, law school-funded or externally funded fellowship starting in Fall 2027. The role focuses on advancing civil liberties throughout Illinois by supporting impact litigation, drafting legal briefs, analyzing legislation, and collaborating with community partners. Fellows will work under the supervision of the Legal Department to enhance civil rights and liberties across various domains including voting rights, immigrant rights, and reproductive freedom.

Responsibilities

Develop and support affirmative litigation to advance civil rights and liberties
Write amicus briefs and analyze legislation to enhance civil rights and liberties
Conduct outreach for clients and collaborate with community members and partner organizations
