Altera seeks a Senior FPGA Development Tools Engineer to advance next-generation FPGA compilation technology within the Synthesis team. This role involves designing and optimizing synthesis algorithms to convert RTL designs into efficient hardware implementations, directly impacting performance, power, and area. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional architecture and validation teams while developing tools for complex RTL analysis and automation.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize synthesis algorithms for RTL to gate-level conversion
Contribute to the FPGA compiler flow integrating placement and routing stages
Improve quality of results through performance, power, and area optimization
Develop tools and methodologies for analyzing complex RTL designs
Debug synthesis results involving timing and logic structure issues

Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer ScienceMaster's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science6+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC designHands-on experience with Quartus or VivadoStrong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
